30+ Years Experience in the Pet Care Industry

Elizabeth Wilmot
Liz started her life in the pet care industry in 1989 working for her sister who owned a kennel. Her sister Caroline already had 30 years experience and she mentored both Liz and Angie encouraging both education and experience as they moved forward. They both attended many seminars and conventions and also took and passed Petcare and Advanced Petcare exams and Liz got her Certified Kennel Operator qualification.

Together Liz and Angie leased and then bought Countryside Kennels in 1995, renovated and then grew it to be one of the top kennels in Maryland. Brothers (and sons) Kevin and Ian Montgomery bought into the business and help manage. In 2008 the family added Countrysides Pet Paradise in Leonardtown (sold on Dec 15, 2022).  In 2019 bought Riviera Kennels in Hughesville (now this Countryside Pet Resort) which has gone through major refurbishment to be able to offer high-quality boarding, grooming and daycare. The Countryside family will be able to service Southern MD; and as well as from our Owings, MD location offer pickup and delivery service to the DC metro and Annapolis areas.
